Brandi started working in the behavioral health field as a teen and has worked and trained in a variety of holistic and integrative fields for the past 25 years. She has a BFA in painting and drawing and also an MSW (Masters of Social Work) with an emphasis on Expressive Arts Therapies. She wholeheartedly believes that if you are human you are creative, and most likely, have lost much of your desire to create freely as a result of a multitude of personal and collective experiences. Most of us get so stuck in our heads we forget to connect with our bodies and the rest of the world. Sometimes we may need some help and guidance to RE-connect.
Brandi's therapeutic approach is an eclectic mix of a little bit of everything! She's constantly learning and loves sharing tools designed just for you, according to your interests, to re-discover parts of yourself that may feel stuck or lost. You might write, color, stretch, or just sit and talk and breathe together. The ways to tap into your own inner wisdom are endless. Sometimes it just requires slowing down long enough to connect and listen. Often when we do this we discover our next best step is so simple, and when it’s not, you’re not alone. Brandi is excited to work with you and support you on this journey to wholeness called life!
Tara offers a safe, non-judgmental environment where each person can feel truly seen and heard. She believes each person is their own best expert and has all the answers they need within themself. Overall, she seeks to empower, support, and guide her clients in their process of finding healing, growth, and deeper meaning in their lives.
She is a licensed mental health therapist (LCSW), and in addition to working in mental health for over 15 years, she has studied health/wellness for many years, is a certified meditation teacher, experienced in outdoor/recreation therapy, & facilitates retreats. She seeks to treat the "whole person" by addressing emotional, mental, social, physical, and spiritual well-being.
???What is the Difference Between Life Coaching & Therapy/Counseling???
The major difference between therapy and life coaching is the focus of the work:
Counseling/Therapy focuses on mental health and emotional healing. It is used to address a variety of mental health issues, addictions, relationship challenges, trauma, grief and loss, etc. This is a safe space to explore the whole picture, dig deep, and find answers, healing, and growth. It can be short term or longer term.
Coaching focuses on setting and achieving goals, and has a general focus on the present and future rather than the past. You and your coach will collaboratively identify goals and address obstacles by using guidance, support, and accountability.
Here's an article that might help you decide which one to choose. The therapists and coaches can also help you assess which approach might be best for you. Feel free to reach out to either of them with any questions!
